Warning: Email Phishing Scam

It has been reported that some users have received a billing email similar to one sent from RealTracs (below).  You can spot the scam by the four asterisks (****) in the credit card information. Do not click any links and delete this email immediately.

There are three important things to understand regarding this email:

  1. The billing system was NOT compromised and all account and payment information is secure.
  2. If you received multiple payment confirmation emails you were not double charged by RealTracs.
  3. This was a phishing email which is an attempt to gain your personal information by masquerading as a trustworthy entity – RealTracs, in this case.

To ensure you keep yourself safe, you can view your billing information in the Billing section in

New RealTracs Password Policy

The protection of your confidential listing and personal information in the MLS is something RealTracs takes very seriously. A strong password is key to the protection of this information, especially with the ever-increasing threats from phishing or hacking attempts and attacks. As part of the need to increase your online security, RealTracs is implementing a new password policy to ensure that only the user (you!) knows his or her own password.

How to Update Your Password

There is not a process you need to initiate.  You will be prompted to update your password automatically on or after Thursday, February 15th when logging into

Password Complexity Requirements:

  • Password length must be eight (8) characters minimum

In addition, passwords must contain at least three (3) of the following elements:

  • One lowercase character
  • One uppercase character
  • One number
  • One non-alphanumeric symbol

*Please note: if your current RealTracs password already meets the requirements above, you will not receive a notification.

This updated policy will increase your online security by establishing a strong, yet reasonable, password that follows common guidelines recommended by leading security professionals.  RealTracs appreciates your understanding in our effort to keep your information safe and secure.

If you have questions about the new password policy, please be sure to contact the RealTracs Help Desk via an online chat, email, or phone.

Safeguard Your Information

Well, since we are not in Kansas anymore Toto, or Walnut Grove, or even Mayberry—we all have to be on the lookout for scam artists and….well….crooks.

With that being said, please understand that RealTracs will never send you an email requesting your password or other personally identifiable information.  However, do remember you will be required to answer the three security questions you provided answers for during the Clareity enrollment process to recover a lost or forgotten password.

Also, be sure to give special attention to scams that occur in other places, such as Craigslist or eBay, that ask you to wire money or click unfamiliar links.

If you have any doubts about it, it is best to play it safe and stay away.
