It has been reported that some users have received a billing email similar to one sent from RealTracs (below). You can spot the scam by the four asterisks (****) in the credit card information. Do not click any links and delete this email immediately.
There are three important things to understand regarding this email:
- The billing system was NOT compromised and all account and payment information is secure.
- If you received multiple payment confirmation emails you were not double charged by RealTracs.
- This was a phishing email which is an attempt to gain your personal information by masquerading as a trustworthy entity – RealTracs, in this case.
To ensure you keep yourself safe, you can view your billing information in the Billing section in RealTracs.net.

Have you seen the email below that appears to be from RealTracs? If it is in your inbox you should DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY! If you already responded or provided sensitive information, be sure to change your RealTracs password.
RealTracs will never send you an email regarding login notices or ask for personally identifiable information.

Beginning on Tuesday, September 2nd, RealTracs will begin upgrading all RealTracs.com email accounts to the new IceWarp based system. IceWarp is a new and improved secure email platform designed to meet your important communication needs.
Getting started on the new system is simple, and no action is required on your part to being using it. Your account will be upgraded, using the first letter in your RealTracs UserName, based on the schedule below.
If you are utilizing mobile devices or third-party software such as Microsoft Outlook to access your email, no changes to your existing settings are required. Your email on these devices and products will continue to function after your account has been upgraded.
If you would like to upgrade to the new email system sooner, that’s great! Just contact the RealTracs Helpdesk at (615) 385-0777 or email@example.com, Monday – Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with your request. They can also answer questions you might have regarding the new IceWarp Email System or any other RealTracs feature.

Well, since we are not in Kansas anymore Toto, or Walnut Grove, or even Mayberry—we all have to be on the lookout for scam artists and….well….crooks.
With that being said, please understand that RealTracs will never send you an email requesting your password or other personally identifiable information. However, do remember you will be required to answer the three security questions you provided answers for during the Clareity enrollment process to recover a lost or forgotten password.
Also, be sure to give special attention to scams that occur in other places, such as Craigslist or eBay, that ask you to wire money or click unfamiliar links.
If you have any doubts about it, it is best to play it safe and stay away.
